My name is Jennifer Tolman and I am a certified Pilates instructor. I have always loved all forms of exercise, and I fell in love with Pilates when I first tried it. My love grew when I learned about its amazing benefits. Pilates is a universal exercise that can benefit a competitive athlete, or someone just coming off the couch. From seniors to teenagers, age is never a limiting factor.

Pilates can be a supplement to any exercise program, or serve as a main form of movement.

Each exercise works your deep stability muscles, the core, at the same time it builds strength in the big “mover” muscles. Your muscles will be challenged in both the concentric (think shortened) and eccentric (think lengthened) phase of the contraction. The emphasis on working through both phases of a contraction will help you improve strength and flexibility, which is key to preventing injuries. The core strength you will develop gives you a foundation of functional strength for any activity you do in life.

Pilates equipment is amazing for adapting to any individual body type. If you decide to train with me, I will specifically tailor your program to help you reach your goals. This is why my training sessions are either structured as a private, duet, or trio session. This format allows me to focus on each client and ensure safety and progress.
